Dr. MARJA SORSA is Director at the Department for Education and Science Policy at the Ministry of Education in Finland. She holds a PhD in genetics and is author or co-author of numerous publications in peer reviewed journals, covering public health, genetic toxicology, environmental health and mutation research. She is docent in genetics at the University of Helsinki and former professor and research professor at the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health and the Academy of Finland. She is member in the European Group on Ethics, Nordic Committee on Bioethics and different committees and working groups in the EU, Council of Europe and the OECD, and a member of the Finnish Academy of Science and Lettres, the Societas Scientiarum Fennica, the Academia Europea and the Collegium Ramazzini.
