One of the projects carried by Gruppo di ricerca soggettività femminile (Female subjectivity research group, http://www.bnnonline.it/attpro/grsogfem.htm)is the realisation of a Gender Thesaurs at the National Library in Napoli. Its main goal is to give an appropriate answer to the growing interest towards Women's Studies in Italy, and also to the question for a better access to Women's studies documents by different potential users. |

The Netherlands
Significant experiences in Gender sensitive Thesaurs have been developed in several european countries. In The Netherlands, at the IIAV (International Women Archives), Amsterdam, the European Women's Thesaurus is a structured list of descriptors for indexing and retrieving information in the field of the position of women and women's studies. |

The first Gender-sensitive Thesaurus realised in Italy is called “Linguaggiodonna” (“Womanlanguage”). Firstly elaborated in 1991 by Centro di studi storici sul movimento di liberazione della donna in Italia (Center for historic studies on women's liberation movement in Italy), in collaboration with Libreria delle donne di Firenze (Women's Bookstore of Florence), it has been created by the female Information Network Lilith (Rete Lilith, http://www.retelilith.it). |
