Cecelia Ahern, daughter of the Irish Prime Minister, at 24 years she has already sold over 3 million books in the world. The exclusive interview for Serverdonne

Have you ever entered in a bookstore without a precise idea of what book to buy? Then the look falls on a colored cover, a curious title, an author that you don't know. Sceptic you take the book and along the way coming back home you start to skim through it. Amazement is that you cannot stop to read it.
This is what I have felt reading the original and charming novel, "P.s. I love you" by Cecelia Ahern.
A beautiful love story is slashed by his premature death. The young girl loses the desire to live. Before to die her husband has hidden some letters, those letters will help her to build a new life.

To testimony the success of the book it is the news that the Warner Bros has purchased the rights for the realization of the movie.
Often the cinema transpositions of books of success are also a disappointment for the authors of the books as the recent case of Melissa P in Italy.
Cecelia Ahern is not afraid that the movie will not be able to comunicate the same emotions of her book? "I am very excited about the book being bought by Warner Bros. At the moment I know that the producer will be Wendy Finerman of Forrest Gump fame but it will take years before it's made. I know that often movies aren't as good as books and some writers become angry about that but I feel that I have to step back from the movie and view it as something entirely different. The book is my project, my baby, the movie is somebody else's project. I look forward to seeing their interpretation of my story because indeed, it could be very different".
Waiting for the movie, Cecelia never stops writing, she writes since she was ten years old, diaries, poetries, thoughts, stories, writing has been always her passion.
Then, at twenty-one years old, the world success is arrived.
"Even the day I sat down to write P.S. I Love you, I still hadn't decided to be a writer, let me explain.. writing had always been a hobby for me. When I wrote P.S. I love you I was merely just putting pen to paper and writing a story but this very quickly felt far more special than any other work I had ever done. Even after the first few chapters, and after showing them to my mother, I decided to send my work to an agent. Of course I did not expect this kind of success. You can't imagine at all that your book will be so well received and that your life will change in so many ways just by simply writing a story that you absolutely loved."

Her second book "Where the rainbows end" , it has been the confirmation of the Cecelia's talent. A friendship history between Rosie and Alex, classmates, very close friends. The book follows their lifes through sensations. The question if Rosie and Alex will succeed in changing the friendship into love, it will guide the reader through the four hundred pages of the book written in a inusual form. Letters, email, chat, the history is built in a puzzle of words.
The cleverness of Cecelia Ahern consists in analyzing the intimacy of Rosie and Alex children, teen-agers and adults.
I ask to myself how a 24 year-old girl succeeds in analyzing so in depth the feeling of older people. "I believe that no matter what age you are you have the capacity to understand other people's situations even if you haven't experienced them. My books are always focusing on people's learning journeys through life".
Cecelia Ahern was born on 30 th september 1981 in Dublin, Ireland, a Country that she loves. "I love the people. I like that we don't take ourselves too seriously, that we are not dramatic but we know how to enjoy ourselves. I also love the scenary, I go to a place called Kerry where my third book is based. (it will be on the italian market at the end of 2006, ndr) there are lakes, mountains and trees that you'll only find in places like Africa. Then, believe it or not, I also like the weather!!"
Thanks to the success, Cecelia can travel around the world however she hasn't the time to discover the Countries that she visits. "I am very much looking forward to going to Australia and New Zeland in february but my dreams are to go to Las Vegas and to Rome.”
What does Cecelia love of Italy? "I love italian people, your architecture and I especially love the food! I wish I could speak italian as I think it sounds beautiful. I think also people are always dressed so stylish and are very beautiful".
Miss Ahern like to be a rock singer in her spare time, she is graduated in journalism and she is daughter of the Irish Prime Minister.
"I am interested in politics and it's great having my dad who can explain things to me in terms I actually understand and I can ask why things have happened etc. I am interested in politics but I wouldn't like to be a politician. That would be a very difficult job!".

And what does Cecelia like to do in her spare time?
"I love to read. One of my favourite book is 'time traveller's wife' by Audrey Niffenegger and I like also books of Carlos Ruiz Zafon. I love going out for meals with my friends and I love going to the cinema as I'm a huge fan of films. But do you know what it gives me huge satisfaction? To go to bed in the early hours of the morning when every body is already asleep and I have a sore hand from writing so hard and a sore back from leaning over my desk". Cecelia Ahern is already working on her new book, she would like to write a screenplay, to write a play but about her future she doesn't have any doubts, "I will write, I will write, I will write."
